Take the Bastille Castle

A leap in time, on the 14th of July 1789.

The Bastille Castile, in 1416.

A trench supplied by the Seine was then following the compound Charles V, at this exact location.

The very first Timescope terminal was set at the Bastille Square in March 2016, even before the release of the first Oculus Rift! It was important to make this product evolve quickly to offer the best experiences (in term of height adjustment or experience ease) to the greatest number of people.

By working with the Historian Héloïse Bocher, specialized in the Bastille’s history (she namely worked with the Museum Carnavalet, and has written the book « Demolish the Bastille Castle » Vendémiaire, 2012), the Timescope team has taken good care of recreating this mythical Square located in the heart of the capital city, as it was in the morning of the French Revolution.
